Meet Your Hosts

Ellen Rohrbach

Host

Ellen is a wife of 16 years and mother of 2 (15 and 11 year olds).  She grew up in the Reading area and is a graduate from Reading High School in 1999, currently working for Reading Hospital over 17 years and is within the Pharmacy Department all while having a love for music.  While in high school Ellen participated in the chorus and Marching Band, of which the nickname “ glockenspiel Gertie” was given to her with love by a local polka fan.
Ellen started listening to polkas at a very young age with family and can remember learning how to dance around the kitchen table with her Grandfather “Walt the K”.  Others have increased her love for dancing  as the years went on and polkas only got stronger in her heart.  Now today she helps host the radio program that has been aired for several decades and is continuing the tradition with her family by her side, all for the love of the music.

George Kazmierczak

Host

Born and raised in Reading, PA, I’ve been listening to polka music since birth. My mother played the accordion, never professionally, but for fun. I spent many hours riding around with my grandfather, Walter Kazmierczak, and he always had polkas on. We would take summer vacations to Wildwood, NJ and Ocean City, MD to hear polka music. I’ve attended many picnics and festivals throughout the years.

I have a very musical background, and have played many different instruments throughout my high school years. I was also in chorus. I met my wife (Christeen) in 10th grade at Reading High School and together we have 2 sons that are very active in both music and sports. My life these days consists of coaching youth baseball and soccer while co-hosting the AGEs polka party on Sunday mornings with my sister (Ellen) and our aunt (Cindy).

Cindy Koretsky

Host

Born and raised in East Reading, PA Cindy‘s love for polka music and dancing, began at a young age. The family went to church picnics and there was always a polka band playing. She has traveled near and far for the love of the music to include two polka cruises, bus trips, and many festivals. Cindy has been participating in “live polka radio” off and on for over 25 years, also coordinating bands for appearances at the Nativity BVM Ukrainian Catholic Church in Reading, PA.

Affectionately known as the “polka encyclopedia” by her family she is excited to be a part of the AGEs Polka Party on WEEU Gold.
